Believe in “Made in Village India”

India is the largest democracy in the world. It is also the most populous country on this planet of ours. People in India feel proud to be a citizen of this country. It is also an agricultural nationm, more than 70% whose population resides in the villages. In the opinion of Bapu, Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, “India resides in the villages, and the development of the villages is also the development of the country.” Known for their serenity and purity, villages contribute significantly to the country’s economy. Recent Face Of the Villages: The government of India and the governments of the respective states are making every effort to uplift village life without compromising its serenity and purity. Many other organizations are also joining hands with the governments to do what is necessary to uplift the lifestyle of villagers. Naturally, the overall impact is decent and complete! These organizations take special initiatives to train the villagers to sharpen their skills in making many décor items, like designer lights. Here, the pieces of terracotta light need special mention. ‘Made In Village’ -An Idea To Cherish! The face of villages is changing fast! Gone are the days when the villagers were mostly peasants! The new Indian villages are more dynamic as they now have skilled artisans who can create rare masterpieces with various natural ingredients, including mud, jute, wood, and bamboo. Terracotta light, for example, is a decent choice for gaining global popularity. These lighting systems can make you feel the Nature all around you. These lights can add more to the aesthetics of your home and make it an ‘Abode of Peace’ for you and your loved ones. Handmade Products Carry Human Sentiments and Emotions! Have you ever felt that sentiment? Well, not everyone can! However, you can subtly get the feel if you touch and feel the gentle and smooth surface of designer light. They embody the touch, care, and feel of the artisans who spend hours making these masterpieces. The experts rightly say, “Raw & Rustic Handmade lighting pieces are as good as homemade food.” Such carefully crafted pieces bring heartfelt happiness and contentment, as handmade food often does. They satiate the soul and make you feel elated.  Made In Village in India – The Inside Story! The village artisans have yet to find an alternative to manufacturing decent hanging pendant lights or terracotta lights. Making them work has another significance. Partnering with Rural Micro Industries

Partnering with Rural Micro Industries

Lockdown Time. No Earning. Few working alone inside the shutter. Only the Owner. No worker. No Helper. No roadside tea break. Development keeps on happening at a slow but cautious pace. WhatsApp video call and drawing sharing is the only way of communication. That’s the way I (Sanbid) worked with Bapan Dey – the owner of Dey Engineering works.  We / Craftlipi started working from home – keeping one target in mind we need to survive and if things are okay we have to do something for the Diwali Market of 2020 as we Indians will be at home and will try to celebrate in a small way and online purchase is the only way. Bapan worked closely with us and still working and we are thankful to him and he also expressed gratitude to us saying that his regular clients of decades stopped giving work but we never did so – rather our partnership became stronger. There are many parts, patterns, and mechanical systems for production made by him and later part by his team which was really helpful for us in the year 2020. some of those are showcased here – which are actually shared pictures in WhatsApp during development time for approvals, evaluations, and status update
